Belfast, Giants Causeway and Connemara

Compared to untouched Scotland, Ireland was kind of a let down.

Giants Causeway
Probably the most exciting moments were seeing lamas and pink sheep. Seriously, pink sheep? Wonder if they know that they are pink.

I took 3 bus tours in Ireland because in order to rent a car, you need to have had your license for 7 years. So it was totally not youth friendly. I took a tour from Belfast to the Giant's Causeway and two from Galway to see the Cliffs of  Moher and Burren and Connemara. Due to time constraints, I did not see Dublin, so I have no idea how it is like over there. But I did stop by in Dublin for a night and that's about it. The tour from Belfast was by Mccombs, the tours from Galway were by Healy Tours.

Giant's Causeway sounds cool theoretically - large hexagonal columns emerging from the ground as though by magic. These are actually caused by an ancient volcanic eruption and its name comes from a legend that giants use to use this road to travel from Scotland to Ireland. To be honest, apart from the magical fact that these columns seem to be man-made, there isn't much going on for this road.

The Connemara tour was also pretty boring. The best part was probably the last stop which was Kylemore Abbey. We wanted to go to the Connemara National Park but no tour group actually goes there and the public bus timings were not very ideal. If you want to, just spend 1 day in Galway to go on the Cliffs of Moher tour and skip the Connemara tour entirely. That is unless you have spare time and money.
