We also went whitewater rafting as recommend by one of my friends who tested out my itinerary beforehand. She gave great reviews about it but I think that over-hyped us and we only found it to be so so as the rapids were not as exciting as we imagined (if she is reading this she will probably kill me). But the river was the clearest river I have ever seen, so much so that the water can be drank directly from the river. I tried and the water tested like sweet, Evian water. A must-see river!
However, it isn't the easiest place to reach as much of Slovenia is made of a mountainous ranges. This is the route we took. If you noticed, we actually went out of Slovenia and into Italy for a brief moment, so make sure that you downloaded both the Slovenia and Italy map on your phone. The drive was as good as the one that I did in Switzerland as we could see the Slovenian Alps up close and we traversed through places like the Triglav National Park, Vrsic Pass and the Trenta region.
